As director, my major responsibilities included working with elected officials and community interest groups to identify and provide direction on major planning issues; directing the staff activities of the Metropolitan Planning Organization; and managing public information, media relations, and citizen education efforts.
Selected Projects
- Directed City and County review of SouthWood, a St. Joe/Arvida development. SouthWood is a 3,185 acre mixed use including a traditional town center. This project involved the approval of a sector plan, a development of regional impact development order, and planned unit development rezoning.
- Directed the Comprehensive Plan amendment process for Tallahassee and Leon County. I managed the process of evaluating proposed amendments, providing analysis and recommendations to local elected officials, and responding to any objections raised by the Florida Department of Community Affairs.
- Directed the development and adoption of a new zoning code and map for 22,000 parcels to address code deficiencies.
- Directed a study to identify an alignment for a major new urban arterial roadway, the Blair Stone North extension, and obtain public consent. The project has been constructed.

Provided professional and administrative assistance to the City Manager and City Commission in implementing City policy. Major responsibilities included managing internal policy development and communications, public information, and intergovernmental programs.
